The iParenting Media Awards program helps parents find the best products for their families.
Winners!
The iParenting.com community sure knows how to handle those hectic evenings, after-school snack dilemmas and boring sack lunches! We were overwhelmed with the number of recipes we received that help you get out of the kitchen fast, fills up hungry after-school tummies and jazzes up that brown bag. But we have our winners!
Grand Prize
Congratulations to Carol Leandro from
Port Jefferson Station, N.Y., mother of Mackenzie, almost 3, and Ryan, 10. Her recipe for Sweet and Sour Chicken Bake won her a year's supply of Fairfield Farm Kitchens Organic Classics Frozen Toaster Muffins!
"I like cooking very much," says Leandro. "Mostly quick meals, except on the weekend. I enjoy cooking simple recipes that are quick and easy to fix, and this particular one really tastes great, too. Winning the toaster muffins is wonderful. I will share my winnings with my children and their families."

Runners-up
Congratulations to Anne Kaluza from Cold Spring, Minn., mother of Abby, 3, and Katie, 1. Her recipe for Breakfast-for-Supper Hotdish won her a one-month's supply of Organic Classics Frozen Toaster Muffins from Fairfield Farm Kitchens!
"I do love to cook, when I take the time to plan ahead," says Kaluza. "I enjoy making healthy, delicious meals for my family rather than just heating up commercial, pre-made meals. I have a real sweet tooth, so I do as much baking as I do cooking, and we all enjoy that as well!"

Congratulations to Mary Danner from Lakewood,
Wash., mother of Ligya, 2. Her recipe for Taco Soup won her a Pet Me Platypus from Neurosmith!
"There is a funny story behind this soup," says Danner. "While pregnant with my daughter, Ligya ('Li' like the 'li' in linguine; 'gy' like 'guy'; 'a' like 'uh' in 'duh'), I tried eating a variety of foods with her, but only a few things worked for the both of us. Teryaki chicken, taco/Mexican food (the more spicy, the better), salads, veggies and fruit. Pizza was totally out of the question, no matter where it was from. While growing up, our family time dinner would be tacos (homemade). Each one of us girls would get an item or two to cut or shred while Daddy would make the taco meat mix from scratch. Those were the days. Well, those days have carried into the life of Ligya. She will sit on the counter while I chop the veggies. Be on a hip while stirring the taco meat on the burner. Gya (Ligya's nickname) loves tacos – any way, shape or form. She will eat them. And yes, the hotter the better for Gya. Sometimes it's almost too hot for me. Ligya is 2 years and 1 month now. She was born September 9, 2001. Yes, just two days before the attacks on the Twin Towers in New York. So on her birthday week, I say extra prayers for those families who lost loved ones in the attacks, praying that they have a new chapter going on in their lives."

Congratulations to Andrea Hiltz from
Dartmouth, NS, Canada, mother of Tristan, 6, and Dylan, 3. Her recipe for Apple Grape Salad won her a Let's Go to McDonald's Game from Patch
Products!
"I'm so excited to hear that our snack was chosen as one of your runners-up!" says Hiltz. "I run an after-school program, and I think it is very important for children to be in the kitchen. I love to cook, to see what I can combine and still make it good! I'd like to instill that in the children in my program as well as my own children. Our lunch and after-school program picked out our favorite after-school snack (apple grape salad) to enter in your contest. Computer literacy is another big focus in our program, and that is how we found your contest."

Congratulations to Candy Stephens from
Katy, Texas, mother of Bethany, 5, Jacob, 2, and Heather, 1. Her recipe for Blueberry Pumpkin Streusel Muffins won her a McDonald's McNugget Buddies Masquerade Ball Game from
Patch Products!
"My style has changed as my family has," says Stephens. "As a newlywed, I cooked to impress and entertain adults and took pride in cooking a variety of restaurant-quality dishes. Now, as a single mother of three young children, my goal is a quick, healthy, kid-friendly meal that still gives some pleasure to my taste buds too! (As an adult, you can only eat so many chicken nuggets, corn dogs and fish sticks!) I really enjoy sharing successful recipes with friends and family to make their lives easier and more tasteful as well."

Congratulations to Karla Dinesen from Pitt Meadows, BC, Canada, mother to Jelena, almost 5, and Nathanael, 20 months. Her recipe for
Pizza Wraps won her a copy of Healthy Food for Healthy Kids: The Practical and Tasty Guide to Child
Nutrition by Bridget Swinney!
"I do love to cook because I know how to do it well, and I love the taste of food when spiced well," says Dinesen. "I like to cook traditional meals with a little added hot spice as well as trying new recipes from well-known recipe books or Internet sites. I like to cook especially if it is not a complicated, long process. I really like fast preparation meals."
