Scrapbook Idea
I would like to submit a scrapbook page that I
did for my adopted daughter's former caregivers. I tried to capture her first year home with us. I completed a front and backside to the page but am only submitting the front side for
consideration in your contest.
You'll need:
One scrapbook page (I used a 12-inch x 12-inch, but you can use any size)
Assorted markers (I chose to use red, black, green, blue and pink)
Straight-edge and wavy-edge rulers
One piece of red, acid-free, craft paper
One piece of white, acid-free paper
Desired pictures
Scissors
Stickers
Double-sided mounting tape
Using a straight-edge ruler, I determined where I wanted the border to be and drew it on the page with a green marker. Using the wavy-edge ruler, I penciled in the lines for the ribbon.
Using a calligraphy marker, I traced the ribbon in red adding swirls where I saw necessary. With fine-point markers, I added the vines and flowers off the ribbon and green line. Then, I picked out the pictures that I wanted to use and cut them into various sizes and shapes. I added a piece of red, acid-free paper to the corner for balance to the page.
I then cut the paper with decorative-edge scissors. Using my computer, I created the larger lettering that I wanted to stand out and printed it on acid-free, white paper. Using double-sided mounting tape, I placed the pictures and papers where I wanted them on the page.
Next, I used a black, fine-line marker to add information about each picture. The finishing touch was to add a few flower stickers to the page in random locations.
My scanner will only scan 8 inches wide, so I had to blend the page together. The only place you can see the "seam" is on the red paper in the bottom corner of the page.
