Parent Educator

"My mission in working with parents and children is basically the same as the mission statement for the organization I founded in 1976 -- The International Association of Infant Massage -- "to promote nurturing touch and communication so that parents, caregivers and children are loved, valued and respected throughout the world community." I believe that parenting is a mission unto itself and a great spiritual journey, and that it has many wonderful lessons to teach us at each stage of our and our children's growth. Applying the principles I teach in my own parenting, with two adult children now, has been the most rewarding work I have ever done. I feel not so much an "expert," as a mom who has been fortunate to attend closely to the journey of parenting and its ability to change me, provide an atmosphere of unconditional loving encouragement for my children, and thus touch the world in a way that is positive, healing, and timeless."

Vimala McClure has is the accomplished author of several books on parenting, motherhood, infant massage and pregnancy. She has taught yoga for several years, served in an orphanage in Northern India and founded the International Association of Infant Massage. McClure is also an avid quilter and has won several awards for her quilting work. She has two grown children, Ryan and Sadhana. McClure resides in Boulder, Colo., near her family.
