Angela I think I have you beat by 4 loads today. I usually do my laundry on Weds and Saturday, but I missed it this week so now it all has to be done today. Fancipants is going to grandmas for a week this afternoon. (Each of the kids get to spend one week by themselves up there with gma)I'm busy getting all of that together. It is definitely going to be a chore day, then the bunk bed needs to be sanded down. Well, Dh will handle that. :0) My goal is to have the furniture and stencilling done by the time she gets home but with school 4 nights this week, that may be a bit unrealistic.
About Michael Moore. Well, hate to say it folks, but the same freedom of speech we have, is also the freedom of speech that he has. Freedom of speech unfortunately does not mean the freedom to HEAR only what we want. Gotta take the good with bad stuff I suppose. I don't agree with him be sneaky tho, not cool. :/ Especially trying to make the few look like the many. It is very skewed, and for someone who is so bent on informing the public on the "reality" of the war, it would seem to be that he idd just the opposite. My opinion, only. 9/11 was what 9/11 was. A horrific act of mass terrorism. Trying to color it to be something else, whoever is doing it, is wrong. It never ceases to literally amaze me, how little regard these people have to the human being. Karma catches up with people like that.
Anyhoo, I read that the kidnappers, whose organization Saudi authorities believe were responsible for Berg's death as well, were killed in some sort of shootout with Saudi police. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

Hi Everyone,
Hope everybody is having a good weekend.
I guess my cleaning tip would be..to clean the inside of my microwave I spray a paper towel with Fantastic and throw it in the MW for about a minute on high...Then I just wipe it down and it gets rid of any build up and etc.
All of these cleaning tips are great!
We are going to a post wedding party today for friends of ours, they were married last weekend in Maine, but DH thought it was too far to travel. ( I even had it set up for Baby Ryan to spend the night at my friends home ) Oh Well! hopefully today will be fun..We are bringing Ryan with us.
Barb~ Sorry to hear about the loss of your friend.

THE LITTLE CHAP WHO FOLLOWS ME
A careful man I ought to be,
A little fellow follows me,
I do not dare to go astray,
For fear he'll go the same way.
I cannot once escape his eyes,
Whate'er he sees me do he tries,
Like me he says he's going to be,
The little chap who follows me.
He thinks that I am good and fine,
Believes in every word of mine,
The base in me he must not see,
The little chap who follows me.
I must remember as I go,
Through summer's fun and winter's snow,
In building for the years to be
The little chap who follows me.

Good morning all! My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone.
Let's see a cleaning my favorite cleaning tip would have to be if you have baked on food on your dishes, when you soak it put a used fabric softner sheet in it, the softner will loosen the food and make it a cinch to clean.
Hope everyone has a nice weekend. We are going to go horseback riding and fishing later today. And tomorrow we are going to have a cook out with my family. Sounds great. Kiddos are at the library with Mamaw right now, will be back soon so I need to get ready to go. TTFN.

Kerri Nope missed it on purpose since I saw the interview with him on Dateline w/ Matt Lauer. He is such an *&^!!! You know he says that he supports our troops, as does the rest of Hollywood,(eye roll inserted here) but when they make movies with type of content they are NOT supporting them at all. Plus the footage they have of some of the soldiers saying how they felt about the war? Well they thought they were talking with cameras off, in confidence. Some even had hidden cameras so they would really get those over there, perspectives. Yeah I sure like how Mr. Moore gets his footage! By lying to these soldiers, sneaking cameras in places, and showing things ENTIRELY one sided. You know, he would have NOTHING to say if Clinton was in office still and in this war. Nope nada. The only reason that Pres Bush is getting so much flak is because his Dad had a war, and the Bush family was successful twice!! Yeah Moore is a moron. LOL and he said that he made this movie with no political agenda. LMAO but he wants this movie to impact the voting in Nov so that Kerry will become pres. Yep I so want THAT guy in office. Can't even make up his mind what he stands for. I guess where ever the money is coming from, he will stand for whatever they want him to stand for. Hey you have to hand it to Bush. He stands up for what he believes is right and will NOT say that he did wrong nor apologize for his actions. He is one of the Strongest Pres we have had, not to mention Reagan. Seriously, Reagan stood for what he believed and never backed down and he served 8 great years and made a HUGE difference. I know that Bush, if elected again, will do the same. I think we can see a many more great things from him. I like a Pres who doesn't waver and a Pres who doesn't put his personal needs or sexual needs ahead of his country.

Angela~ 6 loads of laundry? Do you have to do it every day? I try to do at least one load a day. If I don't, by the weekend, we have a pile as tall as my oldest son! My 2 year old likes to change shirts about 5 times a day, too. Ugh!

CONGRATS SEA on the new puppies!! They are adorable and I would have trouble letting them go!
Barb, so sorry to hear of your friends passing and my sympathies go out to the family. I pray that they find a cure for that horrible disease someday soon!
Thanks to all who kept my Dad in their prayers! We think he might have suffered a stroke, but won't know much until doctor calls back on Monday. He was also put on something called "Lexapro" because he just hasn't been "himself" lately and very depressed..I pray it works and he starts to feel better soon!
Wendy, I enjoyed your post and am angered by all the finger pointing being directed at President Bush! I also cannot STAND Michael Moore! The man is an IDIOT! Looks like ol' Richard Gere is at it again as well...when will these damn movie stars learn to stay out of politics and do their own damn jobs?! GRrrRr!!

The whole mess with the beheading of Paul, is sick. I also hate the fact that the father of Nicholas Berg has that sign in front of his house. What an idiot! His son was told to leave then didn't, then was captured and killed. Yeah that was the Pres fault. Sure, that his son wanted to stay and rake in the money. And I am glad that the US did not negotiate for his release at all. That is our policy. These terrorists are trying to drive a wedge between the Saudi's and the US. They want the US to leave so they can freely attack Saudi Arabia. Sick sick sick. Oh and Don't get me even started on that new Micheal Moore movie Farenhiet 9/11. What crap. He is so biased, so is the movie, and its totally amazing to me how this man ABUSES his freedom of speech right. It is because of this Pres that more attacks have not taken place, and because of him that our freedoms will still stand. He is one of those people that I would love see and try and live in Iraq or go over there and actually DO something about the problems he believes we have. OH yeah and he says that he had tape of the prison abuse scandal even before the press released what they had. YEAH WHATEVER. He is an awful man. Him and all his star followings, Tim Robbins, Sean Penn, who really don't know ANYTHING about politics just know that they hate ANY Republican President. You know what is funny? They have all their Luxury and fame and fortune because this country allows it. And protect it. Like at the Oscars they were afraid that Terrorists were gong to hit the building or something. You know what? They, the gov, the homeland security, should have said oh well. Since they, Hollywood, oppose what ever the gov does anyway. I think they should live like us. We don't get protection like that going to Disneyland or the Sears Tower, or LAX, I mean those have been said to be creditable targets. Us, we don't have extra security making sure we survive. Nope the stars have money and America wouldn't be America without its stars. At least that is what Hollywood says. UUUUUUUURRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHH
This whole thing upsets me terribly. I don't care how famous you are, NO ONE tells me that their life, because they are rich, or famous, is more important than my or more importantly my children's lives.
Ok my vent is done. I had to get this out. Sorry! I am just Sounding off on this issue since we were talking about it today.

Hey all! I am cleaning my bootie off getting ready for Sunday. I've got all of the bedrooms done, as well the the children's playroom, the family room, and six loads of laundry(so, I'm caught up kind of.) Tomorrow I have the kitchen and bathroom left, and some shopping. Just taking a break from cleaning, then I need to spend some time with DD1...she wants me to watch the Princess Diaries with her. She's in the shower now, then time to get into our *comfies*, pop some popcorn, and have us a little bit of girl time....I cannot think of anything else I would rather do on a Friday night. =) Have a great weekend everyone.

Happy Friday all!
Well, we have had a fun past two days. Yesterday we went to a formal graduation ball at the Field Museum. They did a wonderful job with the decorations and we had "free" run of the place! And today we made it a "family" day and went aboard a luxury sea cruiser for lunch called the "Odyssey" at Navy Pier. I recommend it if you are ever in Chicago. Our two year old just loved dancing to the band!
Well, must go start dinner and then we are off to ice skating! :)
Angela-I took your advice and did a tie clip for dh's graduation gift. I also did a briefcase, one that can hold a laptop...he better like it! Thanks for your help with the suggestions! No luck however shopping at the Exchange for these.
Barb-Sympathy thoughts go out to your husbands friend/wife. It is hard to lose someone you love. Our friend here whose wife committed suicide is just getting back...although I don't know how someone so young goes on...
JMO-so happy to hear about your mom and also baby Owen. I am happy that mommy gets to hold him. Any discharge dates set?
Saraj-your puppies are cute!

Below were the guesses of everyone who wanted to play! :-) Sooo, um...who was the closest? (looks like Margarita is the closest!)
-------------------------
I'll guess 9...all lighter butterscotch color, except for one little dark guy(who will be the cute runt of the litter too.)
angela
I'll guess 11 puppies...6 yellows and five chocolates
(my guess)
I will guess 9 pups, and 5 blondies, and 4 choc ones, 6 females, 3 males.
Margarita
My guess for Nala - six pups, different shades of tan, this Friday.
Barb
i'm thinking Nala will have 8 pups. 5 boys, 3 girls. 3 chocolate, 4 light brown and 1 black. the big day will be a week from today!
j-mo mama
Im guessing 7 pups, 4 boys, 3 girls. All golden ( or butterskotch ), and one black. I say they are here on Thursday.

I agree, I understand that these contractors are making a great living in the Middle East right now. But I just cannot understand why if they were warned time and time again to leave, (the US even offered to pay their way)why would they stay?? Nicholas Berg's father posted signs in his front yard. He blames President Bush for his son's death. His son was not military, he was a communications expert setting up towers or something. They were warned. Berg himself was even being threatened personally. My goodness...that is not very smart. Money.
Paul Johnson had a love reportedly of the Arabian culture and was reading the Koran (spelling?). He has been working for Lockheed Martin over there for many years, before all of this nonsense. (Although I understand there has always been some sort of unrest over there). According to people he worked with and his family, he showed great respect and reverence for them. It's just sad. Honestly, I don't believe for one minute, that had any prisoners been released they would have let him go. They would have killed him anyway. People like Al-Queada are not able to reason without blood. Ever.

On the American that was beheaded..again. WHY on earth are these people over there. Im not saying they deserve this, NOONE does, but for God sakes, how STUPID can they be??? They have been told and told and told to leave, yet they stay and when something happens, its blasted all over the media. I believe it wouldnt have mattered what or how many hostages were freed, if any, they would have killed this man anyway. They are animals, with no regard to human life, WO WHY GO THERE and take that risk??? Our neighbor is a Firefighter, and he was offered 150,000 non tax money to go over there for one year. He declined. He has a wife and 2 sons. Why take that risk?? I feel very sorry for that mans family. What a terrible PREVENTABLE tragedy!

CNN has verified the death, by beheading, of Paul Johnson. Honestly, I don't think this man stood a chance of getting out of his captivity alive in the first place. The demands of his captors...All Westerners leave the Arab Peninsula, and the freeing of all Al Quaeda prisoners...were just too unreasonable for even these phychos to believe the demands would be met. Plus, Saudi Arabia and America have always had the policy of NO negotiating with terrorists. These people act and live like animals.

Barb/Melissa~Can you imagine changing a baby's *dirty* when WE were babies? No disposable diapers(at least when I was born) and no Pamper's Wet Wipes. Ugh...The first time my oldest daughter stayed for a weekend with my parents when she was a baby, my dad *took the plunge* and decided to change her diaper. Dad is from a different generation, and I remember he would give the babies bottles every now and then, but for the most part men of that generation left childcare up to the mother. Anyway, my dad decides he is going to change our then 4 month old daughter's diaper....and had NO idea how disposable diapers were supposed to work. Mom said it was quite a sight, but God love him, he finally got that baby diapered! Mom said the fact that Maranda was such a patient, well humored baby really helped too!

Angela~ I do the same thing with the Clorox Wipes in the bathroom. But I use paper towels and the citrus 409 on the kitchen counters and the table.
Barb~ I am sure that most do wash hands after baby changes. But what I was wondering was if you used wipes to wipe the baby with since it didn't involve rinsing with water. LOL....it was really more of a joking sarcastic question. LOL - Plenty of good healing thoughts coming your way for your dh's friend and daughter.

Barb~I don't use sponges either...eeuuww. I wipe off counters, stove, table, etc. with soapy water and a dishcloth, which gets changed everyday(I do know people who keep the same dishcloth at their kitchen sink for more than one day...yuck.) I also spray my *scrubby* pad with Lysol after I use it so it does not get stinky. I use Clorox Wipes in the bathroom too when everybody is done getting ready in the morning....it keeps everything cleaner inbetween weekend scrubbings.

SEA, I have a husky mutt (75 pounds) and an Australian cattle dog mutt (50 pounds). And since yesterday I have another Australian cattle dog in my house… we’re dog-sitting for our friends until Monday. The three of them are best friends because they’ve known each other since mine were puppies.
I think my Nala guess was that it would happen last week some time! Looks like I’m out, too!
Melissa, about hand sanitizers and baby wipes… yes, they’re in the same category for me. I always wash my hands after I change Isabelle’s diaper anyway, just because of the nature of the job, but we don’t ever use wipes as hand-cleaners while we’re out. I keep a washcloth in the diaper bag for big messes, or I just use a napkin. Someone mentioned the germs on sponges… I know! It’s wasteful, but I use paper towels for cleaning the stove, counters, etc.

Jen~Have you tried a warm shower and then reading before bed? I had bouts of sleeplessness for a while. When that didn't work, I popped a melatonin. ZZZZZ. ;) works great. Also, valarian root works well for that.
I am sore sore sore today. We did these repatterning exercises last night in my Movement/Body Mechanics class. It involves contracting your rhomboids (muscles between your shoulder blades)and holding it while moving your arms around and forward. The purpose is to lengthen those muscles (swimmers have great rhomboids). OUCH!
