Waiting For Santa
by A.J. Arden

When Santa comes to my house,
I'll have to let him in.
The doors and windows all are locked.
My chimney's way too thin.

Santa Claus I'll have to stop dear Santa,
Before he lands that sleigh.
My roof is just not strong enough
For what his reindeer weigh.

And he must know that Buster
Sleeps beside my bed,
And he will bark and wake the block,
If he hears Santa's sled.

I hope that I can catch him
Before he's through my door.
He just can't wear his big black boots
All over Mommy's floor.

And he might want to rest a bit,
If he has time to spare.
I must make sure he doesn't sit
On Daddy's brand new chair.

And then I will tell Santa
What happened to his treats,
How mommy baked him cookies,
But I ate all the sweets.

So I must wait for Santa
to tell him what to do.
And if you worry just like me,
You'd better wait up, too!
